Because the USB 3.0 protocol limits bandwidth to 5 Gbps, our USB 3.2 Gen 2 hubs cannot provide higher speeds if the connected storage devices, computers, adapter cables and adapters only meet USB 3.0 specifications.

Power Delivery connection

This port supports a power consumption of up to 100 W. Please note the following information:

1. All hubs consume power by themselves when in use. HB2027 itself consumes 15W, so the actual charging power is slightly lower than the rated power of the charger. Generally speaking, it makes no difference.When the computer is running high-power programs and all USB ports of the hub are connected to devices, if the original power adapter of the computer connected is low power (for example, MBA comes with a 30W charger), the devices may not work properly due to slow charging speed or insufficient power supply.

2. The maximum input power of 100W supported by the hub is a threshold, and the actual charging power is determined by the charger. If you expect 85W charging power, please make sure both the charger and charging cable support 100W charging power.

The HB2027 has 3 USB-A ports that can be used to charge small mobile devices such as phones or tablets.The current test data is as follows:When a MacBook Pro 2021 is connected to the HB2027 via the original 67W charger, it takes about 3 hours to fully charge an iPhone with 20% battery capacity;It takes about 4.2 hours to fully charge two iPhones at the same time with 20% battery capacity;It takes about 4.8h and 4h respectively to fully charge an iPhone and an iPad at the same time with 20% battery level.

Why does the hub not reach data rates of 10 Gbit/s?

1. For all hubs, including this product, the 3 USB ports share bandwidth for data transfer. If only one of the USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports is transferring data, that port will use the full 10Gbps bandwidth exclusively. If multiple devices are connected at the same time, those devices will have to share the 10Gbps bandwidth.
2. Not all USB-C ports support USB 3.2 Gen 2. If all connected devices, cables and USB ports on your devices support the USB 3.2 Gen 2 protocol but you are not getting the ideal speed, please contact us for further assistance.

How do I make sure my device can be used properly with HB2027?

1. HB2027 can be used with most phones or tablets with a USB-C port. However, some devices may require additional software for video output, so it is recommended to contact the device manufacturer to see if the device supports screen casting.
2. If your computer has a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort, power delivery and data transfer, HB2027 will work properly.

Because the Surface Go has its own Surface Connect port for charging, its USB-C port does not support charging. Therefore, power cannot be supplied through the hub when the hub is connected to the Surface Go's USB-C port.

Why does the hub get hot when in use?

The performance of a 10G hub is increased so that they can be used for high data transfer rates. This causes the surface of the product to heat up. Since the heat is dissipated from the housing, the stability of the hub is ensured so that it can be used safely.

Does the HB2027 hub work properly if it is not connected to a PD power supply?

The hub also works without an external PD power supply. However, please note the following:

1. If no power adapter is connected to the hub, the hub will draw power from the connected computer or tablet, which will drain the computer or tablet's battery more quickly.
2. Since the USB port on your computer, phone and tablet supplies power even in standby mode and during shutdown, it is recommended to unplug connected devices when leaving the hub idle if the battery of the connected device is depleted.

Can HB2027 be connected to a smartphone or tablet?

Yes. According to our test, HB2027 can be connected to a tablet to output videos to the monitor and simultaneously connected to an SSD to transfer data.

A notice:

Since the USB-C port of phones and tablets alone does not provide enough power, please connect this hub to a PD power adapter with an input power of 18W or more to make it work properly when using multiple high-power devices (e.g. more than 2 hard drives).
